Blue Lights in my Rearview is a story that chronicles the history of police towards black men in America. With the recent and constant murders of black men by police that have been caught on video, there is an exposure to the world at large of a phenomenon in America that has been secret for too long. Since the days of slavery and the slave patrols, the American system has always targeted, hunted, killed and enslaved black men. This book highlights the different eras of history from Slavery, to the Black Codes, Jim Crow, Civil Rights, COINTELPRO, the war on drugs, mass incarceration, and the numerous killings that we see today. The author also includes his personal experience with the law and judicial system to reveal the hypocrisy, disparity, corruption and injustice that many have experienced but few have the gall or knowledge to articulate. This work exposes how different levels of the law enforcement, judicial, and the government have been complicit in making sure that blacks are targeted, convicted, arrested, sentenced and even outright murdered at the hands of the state. This work was intended to spark the uncomfortable conversation of the harsh reality that exists in America and also give the ready a sense of what every black man feels when he sees BLUE LIGHTS IN THE REARVIEW
